The Kpopalypse 2023 Objectification Survey results part 4 of 4 – MOST ATTRACTIVE MEN AND WOMEN in k-pop

It’s the final part of the 2023 Kpopalypse Objectification Survey results! Who are the most attractive k-pop idols for 2023, according to Kpopalypse readers? Let’s take a look!

The last part of the Kpopalypse 2023 Objectification Survey is essentially the “face” category, where we take a look at the most attractive men and women in k-pop according to Kpopalypse readers!  This section of the results is therefore completely politically correct and not objectifying or sexualising anybody whatsoever, because we all know that saying a boob is pretty is a very sexual statement, but saying a face is pretty is not sexual at all!  Many Kpopalypse readers enjoyed being TC Candler for a day, let’s take a look at how they voted!

As per last year, voters were asked to choose up to three nominees in each category, best first, and points were allocated as per the following system:

  • Your first choice was weighted 100% higher than your second choice
  • Your second choice was weighted 66% higher than your third choice
  • If you doubled or tripled on choices, only the first choice was counted

Scores were then tallied to give the final results across all categories.

The four results posts are as follows:

Part 1: FEMALE BOOBS and MALE ABS/TORSOclick HERE for the results!

Part 2: FEMALE and MALE ASSESclick HERE for the results!

Part 3: FEMALE and MALE LEGSclick HERE for the results!

Part 4: OVERALL MOST ATTRACTIVE FEMALES and MALES – this post!

Remember folks – that if you object to any of the choices here, you only have yourselves to blame as these were 100% your votes, not mine.  Kpopalypse does not even cast a vote – this isn’t like a rigged Korean TV show where the “judges” get a say and can overturn fan opinion.  If you want to see a certain result, then it’s your responsibility to spread the surveys to the people who are going to vote for your faves!

MOST ATTRACTIVE WOMEN IN K-POP

#1 – KARINA – AESPA

401 points

(2022 position – #1)

Someone call Kwangya 119 because it’s an emergency – Karina has hit the number one position for the second year running! Last time her lead was close but now she’s way out in front, clearly she is now the confirmed Kpopalypse reader favourite! How many years can she keep the top spot?

#2 – SANA – TWICE

169 points

(2022 position – #3)

Sana increases a place in 2023, and in fact it was a good year for Twice members all round – clearly all that “world” touring is helping! However the distance between second place and the next few places down is only a very tiny fraction of votes.

#3 – CHAEWON – LE SSERAFIM

164 points

(2022 position – #15)

Chaewon made a big impression this year due to Le Sserafim’s increasing activity, meanwhile Nile Rodgers didn’t chart in these polls anywhere, what a nugu.

#4 – IRENE – RED VELVET

159 points

(2022 position – #2)

The one-time leader is still hanging onto a very respectable fourth position, but probably suffered a little due to Red Velvet moving gradually into that “veteran k-pop girl group that doesn’t do much anymore except wait for their illegal contract extension to expire” category.

#5 – JIHYO – TWICE

156 points

(2022 position – #5)

Jihyo on the other hand keeps the same spot from last year, proving that she’s a visual to be reckoned with across all categories.

#6 – TZUYU – TWICE

137 points

(2022 position – #12)

Tzuyu has been a popular poll pick for years and is here again, helping ensure that the most attractive female category is nearly 50% Twice members!

#7 – EUNHA – VIVIZ

135 points

(2022 position – #8)

A lot of idols say they will return with a more mature image, but Eunha actually came good on that promise – she’s making impacts in the polls that she never did back in Gfriend days.

#8 – SINB – VIVIZ

131 points

(2022 position – did not chart)

The first big shock for the attractiveness polling is SinB, who has come flying up out of nowhere to land hot on groupmate Eunha’s heels. I’m not sure if this movement was tied to a specific event, or if lots of caonimas just all got their optometrist appointments at the same time.

#9 – IU

113 points

(2022 position – #4)

It’s not really a female attractiveness poll these days without IU somewhere in it, and while she’s slipped a few places due to having a quiet year, readers still remember.

#10 – JENNIE – BLACKPINK

110 points

(2022 position – #11)

Jennie also tends to revisit this category year after year. Lots of Blackpink touring activity plus her new TV series kept her name on the tips of everyone’s lips, which tends to translate into lots of voting.

#11 – MOMO – TWICE

108 points

(2022 position – #9)

Did I mention that there were a lot of Twice girls doing well in the results this year? Well I’m mentioning it again…

#12 – MINA – TWICE

107 points

(2022 position – #7)

…and again. Mina and Momo are never too far away from the top on these results lately. Something tells me the fourth generation of k-pop hasn’t actually started yet.

#13 – JEONGYEON – TWICE

105 points

(2022 position – did not chart)

Kpopalypse favourite Jeongyeon finally gets a picture status this year and it’s just as well because I feel like I’m finally rewarded for the effort of putting together these posts, which take multiple days each. Thanks for voting, readers!

Now it’s time to take a look at the male category!  Who are the hottest k-pop guys in 2022?

*

MOST ATTRACTIVE MEN IN K-POP

#1 – WONHO

256 points

(2022 position – #1)

Wonho scoops up all the top spots yet again for 2023! However note that his lead in the overall attractiveness category isn’t as commanding as it was last year, perhaps due to his career hiatus for military service. Will he come back in 2024 with another clean sweep? Find out in 12 months!

#2 – KAI – EXO

170 points

(2022 position – #3)

Kai has been a popular pick ever since polling in this category began, and Kai performed excellently this year, proving that at least some EXO-L’s were able to stop sending Kpopalypse death threats long enough to cast a vote for their fave. Good work, that’s the way!

#3 – MINGYU – SEVENTEEN

161 points

(2022 position – #5)

Seventeen has never really fired up the Kpopalypse song results in a big way, but various members have certainly managed to fire up the appreciation from Kpopalypse readers over the years. Mingyu comes out with a very good result – when you can beat Shindong you know you’re A-list material.

#4 – SHINDONG – SUPER JUNIOR

158 points

(2022 position – #2)

Is there a sexier man alive than Shindong? Who knows for sure, but he performed very well in the polls anyway, consistently giving lots of these nu-school k-pop kids a run for their money!

#5 – FELIX – STRAY KIDS

129 points

(2022 position – #10)

I’m not completely sure what’s going on in the above phot especially colour-wise, but I certainly know what’s going on with Flexi’s popularity, as he shot up several places for 2023!

#6 – TAEHYUNG – BTS

126 points

(2022 position – #4)

A favourite of many readers including AustralianSana, Taehyung dips a couple spots but still remains a popular favourite.

#7 – JAEHYUN – NCT

113 points

(2022 position – #12)

With so many members to choose from it’s little wonder that NCT consistently does well in the polls these days, with Jaehyun leading the charge this year. If your NCT fave isn’t in these results don’t worry, I’m sure whoever it is has got at least ten more years on their contract left to make an impression!

#8 – EUNWOO – ASTRO

110 points

(2022 position – #6)

Eunwoo has been polling well for a while now, and here he is again for 2023!

#9 – SOOBIN – TXT

94 points

(2022 position – #27)

On the other hand this is Soobin’s first time gracing the top ten, as TXT’s profile among Kpopalypse readers has gradually risen over the years.

#10 – HYUNJIN – STRAY KIDS

90 points

(2022 position – #8)

Hyunjin slipped a couple spots but it still back in the polls this year, showing much more consistency than his group’s music lately.

#11 – MINHYUK – BTOB

88 points

(2022 position – #19)

Everyone should just do Waterbomb, shouldn’t they. It really seems to be a popularity-increaser as far as these results are concerned. Minhyuk certainly benefitted from being able to show his “best side” this year.

#12 – TEN – NCT

87 points

(2022 position – #23)

Ten has never really hit the polls before in a big way so it’s interesting to see his profile increasing. What’s in the red box? Perhaps it’s all your extra votes!

#13 – D.O/KYUNGSOO – EXO

86 points

(2022 position – #11)

Another EXO favourite winds up the results, and that’s it for the Kpopalyspe Objectification Survey this year! Thanks for your support!
