Actor Lee Jung Jae, who gained worldwide popularity with the success of Netflix’s ‘Squid Game’, was awarded the Best Actor Award at the Actors Guild of America Award.

On the morning of the 28th (Korean time), the American Actors Guild Awards was held in Santa Monica, California, USA.

Brian Cox, Keira Culkin, Jeremy Strong of ‘Succession’ and Lee Jung Jae, who competed with Billy Crudup of ‘The Morning Show’, won the Best Actor Award in a TV series, attracting attention.

When his name was called at the American Actors Guild Awards for the first time for an Asian male actor, Lee Jung Jae had a very startled expression on his face.

Lee Jung Jae expressed his emotions over and over again, saying, “A very big thing has happened to me. I have written a lot of messages, but I can’t read them all.”

“Thank you so much. I love the fans who loved ‘Squid Game’ and our team,” he said.

At this awards ceremony, ‘Squid Game’ was also selected as the ‘Best Stunt Ensemble Award’, an award given to actors and works with the best action acting.

This was also the first time a non-English-speaking TV series has won an award, so it received warm applause.
