After 18 years, Dione Monsanto announces retirement from showbiz industry
Dionne Monsanto announced her retirement from show business after almost two decades in the industry.
The former actress made the revelation while guesting on “Magandang Buhay” in an episode that aired yesterday.
“I want to say thank you so much. This is my last guesting ’cause I’m retiring. I am already retired. ‘Hello, Stranger’ is actually my last project and this is my last guesting. So, thank you so much ‘Magandang Buhay,'” Monsanto said.
Monsanto said she will be going to Switzerland to be with her fiancé Ryan Stalder.
“My boyfriend and his family are there,” said Monsanto, who also took the opportunity to greet Stalder, his parents, and his sister.
She revealed that her appearance on that episode will be her final television appearance.
“Every time I come home, I come visit, sana I can see you, guys,” she told hosts Melai Cantiveros, Jolina Magdangal, and Karla Estrada.
“It’s been years, Dionne, and iba naman ‘yong story natin […] but I am very, very happy for you from the bottom of my heart,” Estrada told Dionne after her announcement. “Good luck. Be happy. Halika, manganak ka nang marami, dali. Bongga ‘yan.”
Dionne was best known for her stint on ABS-CBN’s reality show “Pinoy Big Brother” and her role in ABS-CBN’s drama series “Tubig at Langis” as well.
In her Instagram post, Dionne on Thursday said that she started acting professionally for ABS-CBN RNG last 2002 and it had been her “amazing 18 years”. Dionne also thanked those who helped her achieve her dreams.
In her previous post, Dionne revealed that she and Ryan had known each other since 2007, the same year she joined “Pinoy Big Brother”. However, she and Ryan only started dating last 2018.
